The growth in sporting events, whether it be football, rugby or golf, widely broadcast by television, has encouraged the sports clubs to invest in ever more sophisticated lush green surfaces.

However, the green sector has several cards up its sleeve for dealing in the best possible way with the challenging period facing us at this time: the new technologies, implemented by the manufacturers, will allow for irrigation to be practised with practically no water, by using the drip irrigation method; the connectivity of agriculture within the framework of the Agri 4.0 industrial/agricultural revolution; the use of alternative water resources… 

As we enter the 21st century, faced with an expanding urban sprawl, the development of the countryside, towns and their surroundings has become a major concern.

Thus, irrigation has a key role to play, whether in humanising our environment or in combating hunger in the world.
