A new solution for combatting the risk of spring frosts damaging the crops
The new StripNet™ X is a new micro-sprinkler designed to achieve a wide-band wetted strip of 1.2 metres for high density crops, to protect the plants from the risk of frost (vines, fruit trees… arboriculture…trellised crops) or for cooling the crops during hot periods. With this new product it is now possible to optimise the efficiency of the irrigated area. While still applying sprinkling to the crop to be protected (by covering the canopy on the tree line and not between trees), it has become possible to protect a large surface area of crops with a lower flow rate than that used by normal technologies, which are based on the concept of full cover with a high flow rate (requiring at least 35 m3/h/hectare). Thus, with the Pulsar™, our self-regulating product, which provides a very even irrigation at a low flow rate (an innovative pulse irrigation technology allows for the whole area to be covered at the lowest possible flow rate), the system functions on average at a flow rate that is 50% lower per hectare. The protection can, therefore, cover a larger surface area and for a longer period (because in the end the soil is less compacted/saturated by the irrigation process). The Pulsar + StripNet™ X is positioned with the head raised at 50cm above the row at a distance of 5 m between them.
